Her Connect

HerConnect is a community-based digital literacy initiative designed for women aged 60 years and above from indigenous community. Through three interactive sessions, participants will develop confidence in using smartphones for communication, accessing information, staying safe online, and using digital services that improve their daily lives. The training will be delivered in simple Nepali and Newari, using peer learning, practical demonstrations, and hands-on practice.

Why we do it?

1. 67.2% of older persons in south asia reported lack of knowledge/skills, fear of making mistakes, and concerns about privacy or security reasons for avoiding digital technologies.

2. Linguistic marginalization, cultural erasure, and economic deprivation create unique forms of digital exclusion for Indigenous communities.
